First stab at Blogging…here we go

I’m the guy you hear but never see. You might think that’s kind of weird but that’s the life of a Voice Over guy. That’s right, the voice on commercials, narrations for trade shows, TV and Radio Programs, animation and alot more. I also write most of the scripts I get to read. That way I really know how it should sound to get the message out the way the client wants it. I’ve done this for over 25 years now…that my friend makes me a professional, or if you’d like, just pretty damn good at it.
Stand Up Comedy is also a passion of mine and has been for over 18 years now. I’m not talking about watching Stand-Up. I’m talking about getting out there and …doing it. Had some pretty sweet gigs so far too, like opening for a few greats such as, Wayne Newton and Tom Jones. Alot of folks ask me what it’s like to be a Comedian and that started me to thinking. So, I wrote, produced and voiced an audio book about the un-seen world of Stand-Up, it’s called “Road Stories of the Real Highway Comics”. By the way, Leno, O’Brien, Ferguson all have copies and you should too…here’s a hint, iTunes audio book section.
What I hope to do with this blog is hand out information about what the trends are in marketing your business, the voice over industry and also alittle comedy thrown in for good measure. I don’t know if you can add sound files to this blog but I’m going to stay with this and try to figure things out…
Cheers
Bryan Cox

  3. Had to smile at the “voice you never see” line, Bryan. It reminded me of that Harry Chapin song “W.O.L.D”. But then again, I’m old enough to remember when rap used to rhyme !
