Some Voices that ROCKED Radio !! (Part 2)

If you grew up in the 60′s right through till about the late 70′s, you were witness to what was called Personality Radio. The announcer was part of the show and presented his air shift, like almost a stage show. There was singing along with the song, a little theater of the mind, different voices, phone calls with listeners and so on. He or she would really sell the music that the station played by talking over the intro til the artist started singing. I couldn’t have collected these with out the help of Lex Van Dyken “The Dutch Guy”. Thanks buddy!! There were a million guys that we all grew up with…Don Imus, John “Records” Landecker, Larry Lujack, Johnathon Brandmier, Cousin Brucie…but I’m sorry I don’t have air check of all those guys. These posts were meant to give you a few smiles and just bring back a few memories of the great Personality Days of Radio.

I have added a very funny bit about “The DJ”. This was done by a friend of mine and a talented Voice guy, Chadd Pierce and the crazy crew at KrashCreativeSolutions.com “The Modern DJ Song” is a great parody about days gone by…I hope you enjoy it.

I wanted to take a moment to inform you on a new book coming out in October of this year… Rock & Roll…And The Beat Goes On by “Cousin Brucie” Morrow” foreword by Brian Wilson, a preface by Petula Clark and an epilogue by Billy Joel. Its a truely spectacular guide to the 1960s, and how music effected everything. From unforgettable movies, to world-changing history, Cousin Brucie takes you through the “explosive musical era”. When people talk about Rock & Roll, it’s not just about the music, but about the people. This book covers everyone from Elvis, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, the Doors, Alice Cooper and the Allman Brothers. It has over 300 photos, posters, album covers, record labels, quotes and more. Included is Cousin Brucies greatest artists of the era and their 250+ songs and a fun slang page in the back with a Rock and Roll Dictionary. Don’t Forget the amazing sidebars and stories about the history and background of music and the way the world was. pre order on amazon today
